Invertebrate Response to Wetland Restoration

Typha x glauca (cattail) is an invasive wetland plant that drastically alters how many Great Lakes coastal wetlands function. We are studying what effect Typha X glauca stands have on aquatic macroinvertebrate communities within these marshes. Coastal wetlands are critically important to many wildlife species for food and habitat resources; as such we are also interested in how aquatic macroinvertebrate communities respond to various sustainable management techniques of invasive Typha X glauca within Great Lakes coastal wetlands in northern Lake Huron.
